Life is short. Every hour of life we get after 60s or 70s is a bonus.
Life is lonely. Many have left along the way; many more will go sooner or later.
Life is fleeting, temporary, and uncertain, and we are drawing closer to our end...
For the ungodly, life is bleak and hopeless. Everything is meaningless, like chasing the wind.
But for the believers, life is a pilgrimage. They are but strangers here and sojourners. This world is not their home. There is an afterlife. And God is with them as their companion and guide. Life is less troubling, less frightening, and less worrisome.
“Hear my prayer, O LORD,
And give ear to my cry;
Do not be silent at my tears;
For I am a stranger with You,
A sojourner, as all my fathers were." —Psalm 39:12
